I am passionate about sharing my experience with clients, specifically tourists that want a small-group tailor-made travel experience in the Western Cape. ONLY IN AFRICA promotes the beautiful Western Cape which includes the Cape Floral Region, one of South Africa’s eight World Heritage sites.

One of my life goals has been to travel and enjoy the experience of seeing new places, countries, people and environs.

In this light, I have been to various countries including China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Croatia, Madagascar, Australia, Turkey, Mexico, United Kingdom, Europe, North America and various parts of Africa, including Namibia. In addition, my wife and I spent a year travelling around the world, which was an amazing experience all on its own!

My wife and I are both interested and passionate about the outdoors, birding and nature in general. We have been involved with the Black Eagles Monitoring Project at the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Gardens for nearly 18 years. I was also Chairman for the Melville Koppies Nature Reserve, a stone age heritage site, in Johannesburg.

For fun, we have been on numerous hikes in the Kruger National Park, done river rafting on the Orange River and been on two hikes through the Hluhluwe/Imfolozi Game Reserve. I have also been mad enough to cycle by bicycle from Johannesburg to Port Elizabeth.

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree and career wise focused on marketing within large, multinational companies for many years. I obtained my pilots license and flew for a number of years.

In addition, I have completed a number of bird and raptor courses, and recently a wine course (one of many to follow).
